As the holiday season approaches, we thought we’d take a look at a few awesome and iconic American destinations. Have you been to The States before? We’d love to hear from you and share your experiences on social media, too! Post on our Facebook page or Twitter and tell us all about it.
The great American holiday wouldn’t be complete without a truly epic road trip. Route 66 is the absolute classic but do not forget about Route 1 – trust us! Also known as the Pacific Coast Highway, Route 1 is a 700 mile drive linking Napa Valley to San Diego. With truly spectacular sites along the way it makes for a perfect summer’s drive, ideally in a convertible classic car (obviously).
The Deep South
Much like our JD Burger, the deep south is full to the brim with character and flavour. Let the good times roll in New Orleans or discover musical roots in Nashville and Memphis. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to the food – fried chicken, barbecue ribs and peach cobbler are tasty southern specialities.
Yellowstone National Park
America’s first national park is the place to go for wild encounters and stunning natural wonders. Home to a super volcano, Yellowstone’s geology has shaped a truly unique landscape. All year round, hundreds of hot springs entice holidaymakers wanting to catch a glimpse as they dramatically shoot up into the air. Keep an eye out for bears, elk, wolves and bison that walk these lands…
The little ones will certainly think of this as an amazing holiday destination! The USA is home to two Disney resorts – Walt Disney World is located in Florida whilst Disneyland is in California. Both are packed with attractions, theme park rides and the chance for children to meet and greet their favourite Disney characters.
As the casino capital of the world, Las Vegas is a buzz with energy, glitz and glam 24 hours a day, seven nights a week. Visit Venice, Paris and London in a day as you wander around some of the most spectacular hotels and attractions. Don’t miss a once in a lifetime trip to the magnificent Grand Canyon – you could even spoil yourself with a helicopter tour over one of the greatest wonders of the world.
